Severn Arts’ Young Voices New Visions exhibition
Worcester Cathedral
Sunday 26 May until Sunday 23 June.
A celebratory annual exhibition showcasing the artistic talent of children and young people from across Worcestershire. Responding to the theme ‘The Sky Above Us and the World Beneath our Feet’.
This years exhibition includes work from 53 local schools and 6 community groups and curated by emerging curator Georgia Rowe; a fine art graduate from Worcester University, supported by Richard Webb and Steven Thomas.
Jen Loffman, Community Producer for Severn Arts said:
“Children and young people have such a brilliant and unique outlook, and this exhibition is all about showcasing that. We want to encourage children and young people from all communities across the county to get involved, to be proud of their creativity, and enjoy having their artwork on display in a very prestigious building.”
Alongside the exhibition, there will be an exciting opportunity to be involved in a FREE drop-in arts workshop for all ages with Sarah Edwards from Spare Room Arts, taking place on Tuesday 28 May, 10:30am-3pm in the Chapter House, Worcester Cathedral.
Workshop participants will help make a giant collaborative piece of artwork that will be hung in one of the Cathedral windows.
Sarah said:
“Our piece is celebrating the natural world because there is nothing more inspiring and beautiful than nature”.
