Worcester Theatres is set to welcome eight local youth theatre groups as part of the National Theatre’s 2024 Connections Festival
This year’s festival showcases the talent of young people aged 13-19, with performances from surrounding areas taking place on the Swan Theatre stage.
From Tuesday, April 2nd, to Thursday, April 4th, the Swan Theatre will be abuzz with performances from Tribe Theatre, Bournside School, Taunton Brewhouse, Perfect Circle Youth Theatre, Core Principles, Worcester Youth Theatremakers, The Loft Arts, and Worcester Theatres’ own Young Rep company.
Now in its 29th year, the NT Connections Festival is a nationwide celebration of youth theatre talent, providing a platform for young performers from across the UK. Over 7,500 young individuals nationwide will have the opportunity to showcase their skills at one of the 33 leading regional partner theatres, including the Swan Theatre.
Each year, the National Theatre commissions ten plays specifically for young performers, delving into themes such as neurodiversity, cancel culture, and mental health. As the festival draws to a close, ten selected groups will be invited to perform their rendition of one of this year’s plays at the National Theatre from June 25th to June 29th, in recognition of their outstanding talent and contributions.
Tickets are available for each performance, or you can get an ‘All Day Pass’ to see all the performances happening that day. For more information head to www.worcestertheatres.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01905 611 427.
