Worcester Film Festival and Artists Clubhouse are delighted to announce the return of their popular film-inspired art trail, Lights, Camera…Paint!, now entering its fourth year. The trail will run throughout September across Worcester city centre, featuring artwork created by local individuals, charities, and organisations.
This celebration of all things cinematic will launch the 2025 Worcester Film Festival, showcasing the dynamic relationship between film and art. Submissions open on 16th April 2025, with the brief available on the Artists Clubhouse website until the deadline on 13th July 2025.
This year’s theme, Worcester Goes to the Movies, invites artists to take inspiration from their favourite films while weaving in elements of Worcestershire. Whether it’s reimagining iconic movie scenes set locally, giving familiar characters a Worcester twist, or highlighting beloved buildings, statues, and streets, we’re seeking fresh, creative perspectives that blend local pride with cinematic flair.
All creatives are welcome to apply—no experience necessary. A panel will select twenty standout pieces to feature in the final trail, alongside five entries from local charities and community groups.
Lights, Camera…Paint! remains a cornerstone of the festival, bridging the worlds of film and visual art. Kirstie, Producer of Worcester Film Festival, shared her enthusiasm: “Film is an art form made up of so many different crafts, and it’s the community behind it that makes it truly special.”
Emily Johnson, Founder of Artists Clubhouse, spoke about the initiative’s broader impact: “We hope to inspire people to connect with the arts in whatever way suits them—through appreciation, conversation, or creation. Creativity can be transformative for mental well-being and personal development.”
