Prepare for a night of indie rock brilliance as The Wave Pictures headline The Marrs Bar in Worcester on Sunday, 20th October! This witty trio, celebrated for their sharp lyrics and distinctive D.I.Y. aesthetic, promises an unforgettable performance.
Formed in 1998 in the rural village of Wymeswold, The Wave Pictures have been a mainstay of the indie music scene for over two decades. Drawing inspiration from the confessional songwriting of their musical heroes and the raw energy of the C-86 movement, the band features lead singer and guitarist David Tattersall, bassist Franic Rozycki, and drummer Jonny “Huddersfield” Helm.
From their early days of self-released CD-Rs to their prolific career with London indie label Moshi Moshi, The Wave Pictures have built a rich discography. Their sound has evolved from the scrappy charm of their first album, Sophie, to the nuanced explorations of Brushes with Happiness and Look Inside Your Heart. Each release demonstrates their ability to blend poignant storytelling with catchy, genre-spanning melodies.
Known for their engaging and energetic live shows, The Wave Pictures bring a unique vibe to the stage, combining humour, nostalgia, and raw musical talent. Their performances are a testament to their enduring passion for music and their connection with fans.
