Music Spoken Here presents
David Preston Mµ Trio
The Marr’s Bar, Worcester – Thursday 22nd February 2024
Hailed by Time Out as “A superb modern jazz guitarist,” David Preston, based in London, boasts a dynamic career marked by notable collaborations and achievements. His impressive resume includes collaborations with Grammy award-winning vocalists such as Melody Gardot, Curtis Stigers, and Jesse Harris, as well as prominent US artists like Sy Smith, David Binney, Ingrid Jensen, Charnett Moffett, Patrick Cornelius, and Tim Armacost.
In the UK scene, Preston has lent his talents as a sideman to renowned artists such as Jeremy Stacey, who recently graced the stage of The Marr’s Bar with the electrifying jazz-fusion ensemble FNUK. Additionally, he has collaborated with emerging saxophonist Emma Rawicz and the globally acclaimed piano and drum virtuoso Gary Husband.
Beyond his collaborative work, Preston has established himself as a leader in his own right through projects like the Preston-Glasgow-Lowe trio and Purple / Black, both of which have released albums under the prestigious Whirlwind record label.
Preston’s brand new Mµ Trio (pronounced “Mew”, as the Greek letter) features Conor Chaplin on bass and Joel Barford on drums and will be appearing at The Marr’s Bar on Thursday 22nd February for one of their first outings of 2024. Expect tunes from the recent Purple / Black album and new material written for this trio.
