Daisy Peacock was one of the many talented artists I booked for Worcester Music Festival at The Paul Pry and her new single, While It Lasted, confirms she was an excellent choice. The pop ballad is an introspective look at the end of a relationship asking the poignant what-ifs we all experience in a breakup. Daisy’s emotive voice pairs perfectly with the song’s instrumentation, which gradually builds, pulling listeners deeper into its reflective mood.
The lyrics are honest and raw, painting a vivid picture of the conflicting feelings that come with letting go of someone once important. You can feel the longing and resolution in her words, making this track a perfect fit for the soundtrack of a romantic comedy. It could easily underscore a pivotal moment where the heroine, after heartbreak, realises she’s going to be okay—a scene where hope shines through the sadness.
With While It Lasted, Daisy proves she’s not only a captivating performer but also a gifted storyteller. It’s a song that lingers, asking you to reflect on love, loss, and what might have been—while giving you just enough hope to move on.
