Elmslie House is delighted to announce the launch of silversmithing sessions in its newly equipped studio, following the acquisition of tools and equipment from the former WGC Malvern Hills College in late 2023. The Shaw Room on the lower ground floor has been carefully repurposed into a dedicated teaching space, incorporating furniture and tools from the WGC site.
The first tutor-led classes will begin in early March and have already generated strong interest. While most sessions will take place on weekdays, plans are underway to expand the timetable with evening, weekend, and one-off day courses. Skills labs, technical workshops, and summer holiday sessions are also being considered.
Elmslie House is thrilled to welcome former WGC tutor Belinda Gilbert, along with new instructors Gracie Hinitt, Ruth Dodwell and Kate Plant. All tutors are experienced jewellery makers with teaching expertise, and classes will cater to a range of skill levels.
