Applications are open for Live & Local’s popular Developing Artists in Rural Touring (DART) programme, which is coming to Worcestershire in February, taking place at Malvern Theatres on Thursday 20th February 2025 from 10am – 4pm.
This full day is for performing artists and arts organisations to learn, network and find out about opportunities to tour performances in rural locations with Live & Local and the wider rural touring networks.
On the day, artists will get to deliver a short presentation about their work and meet performers and promoters in Live & Local’s network.
DART is Live & Local’s ongoing principal programme of support for performing artists based in or working within the Midlands and is designed to support artists who are actively seeking to move into rural touring.
Since its launch in 2013, DART has supported nearly 100 artists and companies with many progressing on to the scheme and touring their shows across the Midlands.
Steve Wilson, Artist Engagement Officer at Live & Local says:
“This is a great opportunity to find out more about rural touring and whether you and your show is right for this wonderful yet, at times, overlooked sector.”
There are 12 places available (one representative per company) and each company will receive a fee of £150 with lunch and refreshments included.
Priority will be given to artists who work or are based in the Midlands. You could be a musician, dancer, spoken word artist or theatre maker.
DART also aims to spread the word about rural touring to performing artists in training within Higher Education settings and performing artists’ networks and has also supported the creation of new and exciting work. Artists and organisations are encouraged to get in touch if you have a course or network that would benefit from this.
Closing date for applications will be 31st January 2025. To apply complete the online application form, or visit The Live & Local website.
