Record Fair | The Yorkshire Grey, Function room
24/2/2024 | 10am – 3pm | FREE entry and FREE parking
Following the success of the first Record Fair at the Yorkshire Grey in January, we know what to expect on February 24th: the hospitality and service are superb. Our stable of sellers, traders and dealers were mightily impressed by the attention they received and believe me they are not ones to gush…
Did you know the Yorkshire Grey was the name of the horse breed favoured by the dray men who delivered the beer barrels in the days before flatbed, petrol-engined trucks? We even offer education at Glos and Worcs Records Fairs…
The stall holders at the last Fair were happy to impart their not inconsiderable knowledge. However, as the early risers started jockeying across the winning-line from 10am onwards, it was clear we also had an erudite and knowledgeable audience in attendance. The wide ranging and enjoyable conversations were testimony to this fact. We hope the chap wanting to meet Roger Daltrey at his son’s college event was successful. The young lady who bought the punk badges from the 1970s was clearly determined to continue her musical education. Pleased to see Queen albums are being sucked up like sugar-cubes by young fillies and Two Tone compilations were gobbled up by grazing crate-diggers who refuse to be put out to pasture.
The Fair is not populated by gold-diggers and the array of vinyl is offered at favourable prices. Some of the thoroughbred vinyl is priced accordingly, although, the populist records cost no more than a donkey ride along the seafront.
Although, you would expect to pay for parking at the seaside the parking at the Yorkshire Grey is free. Not forgetting entry to the impressive function room is also free for everyone on the day.
Feedback from the last Fair was beyond positive and worth mentioning again. Sadly, space does not allow, so you will have to attend yourself to confirm our Fairs are – “ ‘reet grand” – as they say in Yorkshire.
The Yorkshire Grey, Function Room can be found along the grey ribbon of the Worcester road at WR8 9DA, just outside of Upton on Severn. (If you attend in person you can complain about the extended metaphor that needs to be put down and made into horse glue.)
