Attila The Stockbroker + The Humdrum Express
Friday 10th May 2024
The Chester Tavern, Kidderminster
Since the turn of the year, The Chester Tavern in Kidderminster has been putting on a string of impressive acoustic shows.
Chris Helme, TV Smith, Gaz Brookfield, Mark Morriss, Henry Cluney and Nigel Clark have all recently graced the stage at their upstairs venue and, next on their list, is a return to Worcestershire for punk poet Attila The Stockbroker on Friday 10th May.
Attila has performed over 3,800 gigs, published eight books of poems, an autobiography (which itself has 38 poems in it) and in 2021 his Collected Works spanning 40 years. He has also released over forty recordings (albums and singles).
Attendees to the Chester Road venue can expect a lively mix of Clash inspired songs, hard-hitting topical poetry, dub ranting, razor sharp wit and radical politics.
Support on the night comes from Kidderminster’s own esteemed wordsmith, The Humdrum Express. Often championed by BBC 6 Music and famed for withering critique, The Humdrum Express (Ian Passey) breezily delivers offbeat observation, social commentary and sharp wit; fused with familiar cultural references, surreal characters and subtle puns. Ian has released seven full albums along with a published collection of lyrics, poems and pop culture musings
Tickets are priced at £10 from, and are available online.
