Worcester Arts Workshop are pleased to announce a series of online visual arts workshops – Frida Kahlo Portrait Painting, Mandala Painting and Drawing and Sketching – direct from the Workshop’s experienced artist tutors, to budding artists at home.
First up, on Wednesday 13 to 27 May, from 7-8pm join artist and tutor Kay Mullet for a Frida Kahlo Portrait Painting course. Frida Kahlo is quoted as saying; “I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best”. Over 3 weekly sessions, participants can explore Kahlo’s bright and colourful self-portraits that deal with such themes as identity, the human body, and existence. These 3 sessions cost just £10 in total.
On Friday 22 May, from 7-8pm, art therapist and tutor Claire Hilton will guide you through how to create a beautiful Mandala Painting. With downloadable pattern PDFs, this is a great exercise in pattern and shape to try again and again. This one-off workshop is £5 per person.
On Wednesday 3 to 17 June, across 3 evenings, Kay Mullet will lead a Drawing and Sketching course. Suitable for beginners and improvers, the aim throughout this course is to get participants drawing with confidence. These 3 sessions cost just £10 in total.
Each online video course will take place via Zoom and so participants will require a smartphone, tablet or computer with the Zoom app downloaded. There will also be basic materials required, such as paper, pencils and paint.
