Organisers of Worcester’s 2021 Victorian Christmas Fayre are looking for amateur choirs, bands, dance groups, soloists and ensembles to perform at the popular event, which regularly attracts over 100,000 visitors to the city centre.
Selected groups will be invited to perform for 30 or 60 minutes on either the main stage in Cathedral Square or in Bell Square in Crowngate.
The four-day event takes place between Thursday 2 December and Sunday 5 December. The deadline to register an interest in performing is Friday 12 November at 5pm.
Applications from schools are welcome – and performers can collect money for a charity of their choice during or directly after their performance.
“There is always a fantastic atmosphere at Worcester’s Victorian Fayre; it’s a great opportunity for local groups to show off their talent and perform to a large open air audience,” says Worcester City Council’s City Centre Manager Helen Mole, who is responsible for the event’s organisation.
The Victorian Fayre was first started back in 1992 by traders from picturesque New Street and Friar Street. The event has grown a lot but has stayed true to its traditional roots with plenty of Victorian-themed characters, festive treats and a wonderful atmosphere.
This year there will be almost 200 stalls across the city centre, selling local arts and crafts, delicious street food and gifts – further details are at www.worcesterchristmasfayre.co.uk
