Urging tidal seas race in, hard on the heels of an ominous warning, unwrapped in the thunderous atmosphere of “There’s A Storm Coming.”
Michael Fish never forecast anything like this. A tale of the sea based on Cornish myths, “Lost Lisa Marie” hooks you from the very start. The sharp barb isn’t going to let you escape as Andrew Bate and Chloe Gorman deliver another epic single release, set to stream from 31st January. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait that long!
Andrew’s hard-driven Gretsch, aided and abetted by his stompbox, delivers the rolling tide of music. Singer-songwriter Chloe unveils the tale of deceit and murder: Lisa Marie slips silently, grievously, into her watery grave. But those salty Cornish waters are awash with ghosts and myths—they can’t all be dismissed so easily, can they? Lisa will rise up and have her revenge. This sonic seascape is worthy of a film noir—perhaps a misty, windswept video. Saint Senara continue to bring us outstanding music. The inrushing tidal rhythm traps you in the seductive rock groove. An irresistible song, produced to perfection by Lex Raymond.
I’ve been around long enough to recognise genuine, original talent, and Saint Senara have it in spades. They pull up those vintage roots to cut and splice them with rock shoots, nurturing them in their atmospheric hot house. Not a whiff of the wannabe stereotypes that fill our ears with white noise—Saint Senara are the real deal. If you’ve not yet seen or heard them, be sure to check out “Lost Lisa Marie,” available to stream from Friday, 31st January.
