Music Spoken Here presents
Jas Kayser & Chums

The Marr’s Bar, 12 Pierpoint Street, Worcester WR1 1TA
Thursday 23rd January 2025, 8pm doors, 8:30pm start

Taking a short break from touring with Lenny Kravitz, drummer Jas Kayser will be performing in Worcester in the first of a series of four shows promoted by Music Spoken Here featuring contemporary drummer-led bands.

Jas first worked with Lenny Kravitz in 2018, where she appeared performing a drum duet with him in his video ‘Low’. Still in her twenties, Jas joined Kravitz last year for his “Blue Electric Light” tour, which wrapped up the South American leg in December and will resume in Europe in February with just one date in the UK.

Jas studied at Purcell school of music in London before going on to Berklee, where she was mentored by several great musicians including one of her big influences, the legendary jazz drummer Terri Lynne Carrington. In 2021 she won both the Jazz FM Breakthrough Act of the Year and the Parliamentary Jazz Newcomer of the Year awards. Her debut album was released in 2022 on the Jazz Re:freshed label and she has worked with top artists on the contemporary UK scene including Afa Mist, Jorja Smith, Nubya Garcia and Shabaka Hutchings.

Her ‘Chums’ band are set to perform at The Marr’s Bar on Thursday 23rd January, featuring Jamie Leeming on guitar, Christos Stylianides on trumpet, Daisy George on bass and Richie Sweet on percussion. They will be playing original compositions with influences from jazz, Latin and Afrobeat. Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 8:30. Admission is free for Music Spoken Here club members, non-members are invited to “pay what you can” on the door. For more information visit the Music Spoken Here website
