Music Spoken Here presents
Plague Doctors Cure All
The Marr’s Bar, Worcester – Thursday 8th February 2024
Join us at The Marr’s Bar on Thursday, February 8th, for a unique musical experience with Plague Doctors Cure All. Created in 2021 by saxophonist Lyndon Owen, this band has been a positive outcome of the pandemic years. Owen, known for his involvement in projects like The Coltrane Dedication, formed the band to deliver improvised music that defies classification, blending elements of prog rock, metal, funk, gothic, and jazz.
Having previously performed at The Queen’s Head in Monmouth and the Marr’s Bar opening fr Tool Shed in 2022, Plague Doctors Cure All is set to captivate Worcester with their relentless energy and eclectic sounds. Described as ‘#jazzmetal’ by Owen, the band’s fully improvised set promises to challenge your musical preconceptions.
Award-winning jazz journalist Ian Mann praised their June 2022 performance in Monmouth, emphasizing their power and immediacy that extends beyond the typical jazz and improv audience. The band’s lineup includes saxophonist Lyndon Owen, bass virtuoso Liam Lee-Hynes, guitarist Will Cass, and drummer Andy Goodall.
