Liz Simmons and Flynn Cohen, from Vermont, USA, are the founding couple of the award-winning American Roots & Folk band Low Lily. They perform with guitars and mandolin, creating close duo vocal harmonies and a cohesive instrumental blend. Their music spans from original and traditional folk songs to plucked instrumentals, influenced by bluegrass, Americana, and Irish and English folk traditions.
Liz Simmons, born in San Francisco to musician parents, spent her early years traveling across North America before settling in New England. After exploring classical music, she returned to folk and roots, founding Annalivia and Low Lily with Flynn, and collaborating with Hannah Sanders and artists like Livingston Taylor. Her solo album “Poets,” released in 2021, has received critical acclaim.
Flynn Cohen, an Ohio native, shifted from sports to guitar due to an injury. Influenced by Fairport Convention, Michael Hedges, and others, he studied with John Renbourn and Davy Graham at Dartington College of Arts. Flynn is skilled in traditional bluegrass and has toured globally with various notable artists. He has released five solo albums and contributed to numerous others.
