FEAST Theatre Festival 2024
10th – 17th Nov – Venues across Malvern

The FEAST Theatre Festival brings you bold and fresh theatrical performances from around the world.

Curated by Reaction Theatre Makers, FEAST is celebrating its 8th edition, taking place in venues across Malvern from 10 to 17 November.

The FEAST team is committed to showcasing performances that are engaging, thought-provoking, and relevant, offering new perspectives and creative experiences in art and theatre.

There’s truly something for everyone, whether you’re an adult, a family, or a child. By nature, the festival is inclusive, presenting work from artists of all backgrounds and abilities—ranging from community theatre access groups to more intense and captivating productions by professional companies and performers. FEAST actively involves the local community, working in partnership with groups like Malvern Green Space to host events such as ‘Feast of Thought,’ a dinner-party-style gathering where participants can enjoy a thought-provoking three-course meal, much of which is made from food waste.

For those looking to get hands-on, workshops are available, including eccentric hat making with Lexi Strauss, a creative writing day led by Worcester’s Crave Arts, and “The Spirit of Nature” workshop with Araceli Cabrera Caceres, which explores puppetry and shadow work.

Children and families will also have the chance to get involved through Fetch Theatre Company’s shadow puppet-making sessions, which culminate in a storytelling event.

The performances lined up this year are as diverse as ever. They include:

  • Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me): Described as “divine comedy with images of love and loss that are achingly human” (★★★★★ The Independent),
  • Landscape (1989): A unique piece combining choreography, live cooking, and striking visuals that encourages the audience to embrace the slower, more mysterious world of fungi,
  • The Return by Natasha Stanic Mann: A one-woman performance and workshop examining the hidden tolls of war.

Comedy will also take centre stage with Lachlan Werner’s Voices of Evil, a chaotic and surprising hour of horror-comedy where demonic voices emerge from all directions—beware, anyone could become a puppet of evil!
