Alice Lily, a five piece up-and-coming indie rock band from Birmingham, who describe their sound as a unique blend of feel-good indie with the aggression of modern punk rock release Echoes on 5th may.
Echoes starts off with a nice, dreamy guitar opening, quickly joined by the wistfully delicious vocals. Then, just as you get settled in, it goes quite rocky, which in turn takes us to a mega powered chorus with the vocals hardening up very suitably. A clever time signature change at this point takes the next verse skipping along lightly before a dramatic change into the powered chorus, with the use of an exciting drum fill worthy of any top-notch rock drummer. The chorus pounds away into an abrupt end that took me by surprise and left me slightly breathless! Very, very good, I’d like to them play live.
Following the success of recent gigs with Lovejoy, 2023 paves an exhilarating and fruitful future for the band. The official single launch is on 12tth May at the O2 Academy3 in Birmingham.
