Generous donations enable local charity to surpass its fundraising goal, supporting dance initiatives across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Local charity and dance organisation Dancefest has raised an impressive £4,424.36 in just one week through the Big Give Christmas Challenge, exceeding their fundraising target by 10%. The funds will support a wide array of dance and movement projects for children, young people, and adults across Worcestershire and Herefordshire, including those with learning disabilities.
The campaign, which ran from 3rd to 10th December, was made even more impactful thanks to matched donations from their Big Give Champion, The Reed Foundation, and The Bransford Trust, effectively doubling the impact of every contribution.
Kitty Ross, Director of Dancefest, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have exceeded our fundraising target, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us during the Big Give Christmas Challenge. The donations will help us continue our vital work providing accessible and inclusive dance opportunities for people across our region, particularly those who might otherwise face barriers to participation.”
The funds raised will be used to provide affordable dance classes for children and young people in Worcester, inclusive dance sessions for adults with learning disabilities in Worcester, Hereford, and Malvern, and movement classes for new parents at Worcester Community Trust.
Dancefest’s dedication to creating inclusive, accessible, and high-quality dance experiences remains at the heart of its mission. The funds raised through this campaign will enable Dancefest to continue making a meaningful difference in the community. Find out more about Dancefest’s projects and how you can get involved.
