Hartlebury-based creative company Decanter are the latest to sign up to be part of Worcester’s next BIG thing.
Decanter along with their sister company DC Merch, which help brands deliver memorable experiences along with bespoke creative merchandise, are becoming a sponsor for Worcester’s Big Parade.
The companies’ elephant sculpture will be one of around 65 – big and small – which form a free art trail through the city’s streets and open spaces from 12 July, bringing together the community for one unforgettable event.
Each large sculpture is being sponsored by a business and designed by an artist before being auctioned at the end of the trail to raise funds for the free care provided by St Richard’s Hospice.
Olly Turner of Decanter, said: “Helping brands deliver innovative and memorable experiences is very much our thing so we couldn’t not be part of an event like Worcester’s Big Parade, which is all about creating lasting memories for local people. We’re really pleased to be on board and can’t wait to see our chosen artist’s design brought to life as part of the trail.”
“Our sister company DC Merch will also serve as official merchandise partner to Worcester’s Big Parade. We’ll be helping the team create some really brilliant elephant-themed products, including some pretty cool merch, along with all aspects of branding and print.”
The merchandise will be available online, and in a city centre pop-up shop, during the eight-week trail which will help raise additional funds for the hospice.
Sara Matthews, Business Development Manager at St Richard’s, said: “It’s fantastic to see another local creative company helping make our free, community arts event such a success this summer.
“Our work at St Richard’s shows us how important making memories with friends and loved ones is and it’s something that’s been challenging over the last year or so. With the support of our sponsors – and our memory of elephants, which is the collective term for them – we want to deliver a truly unforgettable event this summer.”Worcester’s Big Parade is a Wild in Art event being brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice. It is supported by partners Crowngate, Worcester City Council, Worcester Business Improvement District (BID), DRPG, West Midland Safari Park the Worcester News and BBC Hereford & Worcester.
