Performing as The Humdrum Express, Ian Passey has released seven albums to date and has been played more than sixty times nationally on BBC 6 Music.
Ahead of the release of a new single and video in January, he’s also about to publish his first book.
‘A New Cure For Insomnia’ is a collection of lyrics, poems and pop culture musings from Ian’s time, so far, as The Humdrum Express.
“I think it’s always been at the back of my mind to put together a collection of my writing. One of my favourite bands, Man & The Echo, brought out a lyric book last year, which was excellent. I think that helped to give me a push to finally get on with it and do something similar.”
“It’s not just a straight lyric book. There are lots of song writing notes, video shoot memories and gig anecdotes added, along with lots of photos from the past 15 years.”
Ian will be performing two, free entry, solo gigs to celebrate the book’s launch:
- Thursday 30th Nov – The Chester Tavern, Kidderminster
- Thursday 7th Dec – The Plough, Worcester
As well as the opportunity to hear many of the songs in the book played live, there will be a chance to buy copies at each gig.
It can also be purchased online from The Humdrum Express website.
