And then there were four! From February this year, Yew Trees Artist Studios at Bevere Gallery in Worcester welcomes Jennifer Ng as the fourth artist working in this idyllic location where visitors can see work being made, chat with the artists and view completed original artwork in a shared gallery space.
Artist and photographer Richard Nicholls has moved into a new studio above Bevere Gallery’s Original Prints Gallery and Jennifer will take over his former studio space from the start of February alongside abstract artist Dan Holden and mixed media artist Susan Birth.
Originally from Singapore where she has exhibited extensively, Jennifer has recently relocated to the UK. She is currently completing her studies for a PhD in practice-based research at Birmingham University. Using a meditative approach to her art, as well as Eastern and Western aesthetics, Jennifer explores the diverse and complex worlds of nature, transforming them into new understandings. She believes that art possesses the ability to evoke and transform thoughts and emotions. In her latest works she focuses on the symbiotic relationship between flora and fauna.
All three artists are very much looking forward to working with Jennifer and feel that her style of art will both contrast with and complement their own styles, offering visitors to Yew Trees a broader and more varied experience.
Kim Taylor, co-owner of Bevere Gallery, said, “In this current world of uncertainty and change we are delighted that Yew Trees Artists have established themselves as a venue to meet artists and chat to them about their working processes. It is testament to their success that they now welcome a fourth artist to Bevere. We welcome Jennifer to the group and look forward to Yew Trees Artists continuing to grow and develop their reputation in our local and regional Arts world.”
Yew Trees Artist Studios are open to the public Tuesday to Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm. Visitors in January will be able to see examples of Jennifer’s work on display prior to her moving in at the start of February.
On the Bevere Gallery site you can also browse stunning collections of ceramics and enjoy homemade cake and hot drinks from the popular café. There’s plenty of covered outdoor seating too in this beautiful countryside setting. All in all, a great location for a creative trip out with family and friends!
